Using The Site

We aim to make the site as easy to use and as informative as possible. There is a comprehensive navigation facility to enable you to search using the categories you prefer in the way that you choose. We shall provide basic information on the wines and the growers, as simply as possible, with more detail sometimes a click away, if and when you want it.

Finding Wines to go with Food:

Use the search box (top right of screen) to enter simple food keywords and a selection of wines that go with that food will appear. This is not intended to be complex, so we have kept to relatively general food descriptions which can act as a guide to your choice and complement your own preference. Use one term at a time, the more general it is, the more options there are likely to be. If you enter two keywords, only wines featuring both of them will appear.

Here is a list of the main terms we have used in our food pairing indicators in  individual wine descriptions:

appetizers; aperitif; charcuterie; cold meat; foie gras; duck pate; salad; party; shellfish; seafood; scallops; fish

red meat; roast beef; steak; rich beef; stew; lamb; roast lamb; pork; poultry; white meat; grilled meat; grilled steak; barbeque; sausages; curry; Mediterranean; Lebanese; Asian

dessert; cheese; blue cheese.

To order your wines:

1.Simply do your search, then click through on an individual product.

2.Once there you will find some more information, a box for the quantity you wish to order and an 'Add to Basket' button.

Please note you only need to order ONE bottle of a particular wine at a time if you wish - the minimum order quantity is 6 bottles, but you may mix your own case.

3.After filling your case of 6 or 12 bottles, click on 'Checkout' to complete the payment and delivery details.

Please note that where there is a different price for 6 bottles of the same wine, this is shown as a separate product with the price for the total number of bottles.

4.Before you place your order, you will have the opportunity of identifying whether you have made any input errors or omissions by checking the details of your order before you click the 'Check out' button. You may correct those input errors or omissions before placing your order by using the 'Continue Shopping' option, or by using the 'remove' and/or 'update' buttons.

5.The cost of delivery per case (of either 6 or 12 bottles) is £5.95, EXCEPT IN SOME POSTCODES (listed on the Delivery page) and in THE CENTRAL LONDON CONGESTION ZONE, where it is £10.80 for the first case (up to 20kg) and £0.30 per kg thereafter. Please write any special delivery instructions in the 'comments' box. This is done entirely at your own risk. See Terms & Conditions.
