Have you Tried Ribera del Duero?

For sheer opulence and depth of flavour, it's hard to beat Cepa Gavilan Crianza 2012,the introduction to the wines of the Perez Pascuas family at Vina Pedrosa. The wine was aged for 12 months in French and American oak and made from hand-picked Tempranillo grapes. It features ripe fruit, cocoa, coffee, some minerality and will drink very well now and for the next 5 years or so. Then there is the lovely offering from Bodegas Arrocal, which is full of luscious fruit, a touch of vanilla and is highly rated by Robert Parker.
